Tropical Temptation Beach Club Review: White Sand, Limestone Cliffs and a Teppanyaki Counter on Melasti Beach
Tropical Temptation Beach Club is an adults-only day club on the white sand of Melasti Beach in Ungasan, at the foot of the limestone cliffs that carry the PANTAI MELASTI sign. Thatched pavilions and curved bamboo roofs frame the pools, rattan daybeds sit on raked sand, and the sea runs along the front of it all. It sells 98 numbered places, from bar stools and teppanyaki counter seats to hammocks, daybeds, cabanas and VVIP decks, and, unlike most Bali clubs we know, it publishes the minimum spend for every one of them: from IDR 350,000 for a bar stool up to IDR 10,800,000 for a VIP cabana in peak season, before 10% service and 11% tax. It took its current name in November 2021 on the site of the former Cattamaran Beach Club, and it is run by iNi Vie Hospitality, which trades as The Wonderspace. Guests rate it highly: Google gives it 4.7 from 8,706 reviews and TripAdvisor 4.9 from 2,168, both read on 25 September 2026. Our team went to see how the day lives up to the pictures.
Introduction: Getting to Tropical Temptation Beach Club
The club sits on Melasti Beach, on the Bukit Peninsula, in the village of Ungasan. It markets itself as an Uluwatu beach club, and its own blog explains the positioning: "Although the address is officially in Ungasan, the venue is commonly positioned within the wider Uluwatu" area. Uluwatu proper, with its temple and surf breaks, lies further west along the peninsula, so put Melasti Beach, not Uluwatu, into your driver's map.
The last stretch is the best part of the approach, as the road cuts down through pale limestone towards the sand and the sea opens up below. BaliHoneymoon, describing an April 2024 visit, called it a spectacular road down the cliffs. Its writers described arriving through the club's top floor, where a large bar sits, with large stairs leading down to the pools and the beach beds. The beach itself is separate from the club: as the venue puts it, "Melasti Beach has its own public access arrangements, separate from the beach club".
The venue knows exactly who its neighbours are. Its drive-time film runs from Alila Uluwatu at 13 minutes to Sofitel at 29, so for anyone staying on the Bukit this is a short, easy trip. From the rest of the island it is more of an outing. The Elsky Bali guide, updated 5 September 2026, puts the airport at about 45 to 80 minutes away, and Seminyak or Canggu are further still, so it pays to plan the whole day around a driver.
Where is Tropical Temptation Beach Club?
Jl. Melasti Beach 88, Ungasan, Kec. Kuta Selatan, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
On Google the club appears as "Tropical Temptation - Adult Only Beach Club by Wonderspace", which is the name to search for.
Opening Hours:
Daily, 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The early start is for "Morning Temptation", the new breakfast service, which runs daily from 7:00 to 10:30 AM. The day club builds from mid-afternoon: the venue's events page lists live DJs from 4 PM to 7 PM on weekdays and 2 PM to 8 PM at weekends, and its September 2026 programme poster says "PARTY STARTS AT 2 PM". Hichori, the teppanyaki counter inside the club, is open Monday to Saturday, 12 PM to 8 PM.
Dress Code:
From the venue's T&Cs: "We encourage our guest to dress in their favorite RESORT WEAR and SMART CASUAL is the bare minimum." Football and sports shirts, drink-branded shirts and flip-flops are not allowed, so pack sandals rather than flip-flops. The FAQ adds: "We reserve the right to deny entry to anyone who we believe is dressed inappropriately." For the pools, "Appropriate swimwear is required for pool use, bikinis are welcomed, diving suits are not allowed."
Overall Score: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ 4.5 out of 5 stars (90%)
Assessed across 19 categories.
Quick Verdict:
A beautiful, grown-up day on Melasti's white sand: bamboo-and-thatch pavilions under the cliffs, pools to drift between, a genuine teppanyaki counter and service that guests praise again and again. Every place in the club carries a published price, so you know your spend before you go. Know before you go: bookings are paid in full and non-refundable, and the ride home is yours to arrange, so keep your driver.
What Makes Tropical Temptation Beach Club Special?
Start with the view from the water, which is where the venue's own drone photography starts: white sand with the sea breaking on it, the thatched pavilions and pools of the club behind, and pale limestone cliffs above, with PANTAI MELASTI UNGASAN picked out on the rock. Inside, the picture turns around. You sit low, on rattan daybeds on raked sand at the edge of the lagoon pool or on sofas under curved bamboo roofs, with the cliffs behind you and the sea in front.
Two statues anchor the design, which the venue names Dewi Namora and Dewi Bhatari and calls "guardians of beauty and balance". In the venue's aerial photography a large white sculpture stands over the pools, and BaliHoneymoon describes the DJ booth beneath a massive statue, right above one of the pools, with a wooden replica of a sailing ship in view from the infinity pools. Around them is what the venue's films call a "tribal bohemian" look of bamboo, thatch, rattan and black-and-white patterned textiles. Honeycombers notes that the bamboo structure was designed by locals.
Water is the other half of the draw. The venue speaks of a glass infinity pool that "creates the feeling of swimming directly toward the horizon". Independent visitors found more to swim in: Best Beach Clubs Bali and BaliHoneymoon both reported three pools in 2024, and Honeycombers describes one made of glass with its own jacuzzi. BaliHoneymoon also reported that the first row of beds is set in the pool itself.
Then there is the pricing. The venue's own online reservation map lays out all 98 units as numbered positions on a plan and prices every one of them, and every bed-type unit also shows its capacity.
It also does more than one thing. There is breakfast from 7 AM, a DJ from the afternoon and a theme on four days a week, Hichori's Japanese teppanyaki counter, and Svaha Spa Melasti on site. It closes at 9 PM: this is a day club, built for long afternoons that run into the late light, not a nightclub. Its sustainability programme is specific, too. Used chopsticks go for recycling through ChopValue, food waste is composted, and staff join a community beach clean-up along the Melasti shoreline every Friday morning.
Our Review Breakdown for Tropical Temptation Beach Club
Our team visited Tropical Temptation and scored it on all 19 of our categories. We checked every price, policy and opening hour below against what the venue itself publishes (its website, both menus, its reservation map and T&Cs, its FAQ and its programme poster) as they stood on 25 September 2026. Where a category depends on the day you go, we set our own read alongside the aggregate ratings, with platform and date, and alongside the independent first-hand reviews we could find: Best Beach Clubs Bali (October 2024), BaliHoneymoon (describing an April 2024 visit) and Honeycombers (August 2026).
Pre-Club Advertising ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.5/5)
Tropical Temptation markets itself with real flair, and it knows exactly who it is talking to. Its cleverest piece is a drive-time film that runs through twelve five-star hotels, each with the minutes it takes to reach the club: Alila Uluwatu 13, The Apurva 18, Jumeirah and Six Senses Uluwatu 20, Bvlgari 21, the Ritz-Carlton, Mulia and St. Regis 22, Four Seasons Jimbaran 24, Grand Hyatt and Ayana 28, Sofitel 29. Its title card reads "THIS IS HOW CLOSE / WE ARE TO YOU". We love it: it answers the first question a resort guest asks.
Around that sits a steady, good-looking stream of content. Instagram posts daily. The September 2026 programme poster, headed RHYTHM OF THE TRIBE, gives a theme to four days of the week. The venue's blog runs to 69 pages in English and Bahasa Indonesia, often with several posts a day. The events page now leads with the New Year's Eve party, The Last Temptation: New Year's Escape.
The editors have noticed. Honeycombers placed the club 12th of 27 in its August 2026 guide to Bali's beach clubs, and NOW! Bali ranked it fifth in the Uluwatu and Ungasan section of its July 2026 guide. The programme sells each day by its theme rather than by who is playing, since no DJ or artist is named on the poster, the events page or Instagram. We give it four and a half stars: constant, polished and well aimed at the hotel guest, with a clever drive-time film and a poster that gives four days of the week a character of their own.
Location ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Melasti is, in our view, one of the Bukit's great beaches, and the club holds a prime stretch of it. The venue's photography shows a wide strip of white sand, clear shallows and cliffs rising straight behind. The venue describes itself as "Set against the spectacular cliffs and crystal-clear waters of Melasti Beach", and the photographs bear the description out. From a daybed you have the sand and the sea in front of you and the pale cliffs behind.
A few things are worth knowing before you go. This is the far south of the island, so from outside the Bukit it is a proper drive each way. The sea is for looking at: the T&Cs state that "Swimming on the beach area is prohibited", so the pools are where you swim. And the sun does not set into the sea in front of you. The venue's blog speaks of "Sunset-facing spaces", but Best Beach Clubs Bali wrote in October 2024 that the sun sets on the wrong side of the island from this beach. Come for the late light over the water and the cliffs, which is lovely in its own right.
Google lists a wheelchair-accessible entrance, while BaliHoneymoon's April 2024 account describes a large staircase from the top-floor bar down to the beach, so anyone with limited mobility should ask the venue about step-free access first. Five stars: for us, a superb natural setting of white sand under limestone cliffs, and the points above are simply worth knowing before you go.
Transportation ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3.5/5)
For the Bukit's resort guests, getting here is easy. If you are staying at one of the hotels in the venue's drive-time film, the trip is 13 to 29 minutes by the venue's own figures. The private-events page mentions venue parking, and the club's TripAdvisor listing ticks both parking and valet parking, so arriving with your own car and driver is simple.
Everyone else should plan a little. Nowhere on the venue's site is a shuttle, transfer, buggy or hotel pickup mentioned, and its own blog, published on 23 September 2026, sensibly tells guests to "Plan your return journey, particularly if staying until sunset" and to "Decide your pickup point before the evening rush". The club sits at the bottom of the Melasti road, below the cliffs. In October 2024, a reviewer at Best Beach Clubs Bali described a fairly steep climb back up the hill to reach a spot where Grab and Gojek will collect you, local drivers controlling the area below, and motorbike taxis that take cash only. Honeycombers' August 2026 guide carries the same note in one line: you may find it difficult to find or book a taxi.
The answer is simple, and it is in your hands. Keep your driver for the day, or arrange a pickup for a fixed time before you arrive, and the whole question goes away. Three and a half stars: an easy short drive for the resort crowd, with a car park and valet, and a ride home that the venue itself sensibly advises you to plan ahead.
Booking Process ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.5/5)
For us, the venue's own online reservation map is the best part of booking here. It runs in a simple order: a date on a calendar, then a plan of the club with all 98 places drawn and numbered, from the bar stools to the VVIP deck, then an add-ons step and checkout. The plan prices each place for the chosen date and shows which are taken, and every bed-type unit carries its capacity. You pick the exact daybed you want, see what it costs, and never wait for a reply to find out.
The terms are stated plainly, and they are firm. "Online bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking", by credit card, bank transfer or QRIS, and there is no deposit option. Cancel and the T&Cs apply a "100% cancelation fee", and "The minimum spend is strictly non refundable." So book once your plans are fixed.
Three practical points make arrival smooth. Bring your confirmation and ID: "If you cannot produce a booking confirmation or valid ID in the booking name then the reservation will be denied and no refunds will be provided." Be on time, since "the bed will be released if there is any latency of more than 15 minutes without any further notice." And have your details ready, because checkout runs against a session time limit. Four and a half stars: a clear, transparent way to choose and price your exact place, with firm terms stated plainly up front.
Entrance Fee & Entry ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
The good news first: on the venue's own word, there is no entrance fee. Its FAQ is clear: "There is no entrance fee to enjoy our venue. However, a minimum spend is required for selected daybeds." Its blog said the same in August 2025 ("entry is free!"), and Honeycombers' August 2026 guide lists the entrance fee as free.
One thing is worth knowing. On 4 September 2026 the venue's own ticketing page on a third-party marketplace was selling a "First Drink Charge" at IDR 150,000, covering entry and one drink, and the venue does not say when that applies. It is worth confirming with the venue before you go whether it applies to your visit. Best Beach Clubs Bali also reported a small charge of IDR 10,000 to reach the door in October 2024, so keep a few small notes handy.
Entry itself follows a calm, set routine. You show your e-confirmation and ID in the booking name at reception, meet the dress code, and agree to a bag check. One TripAdvisor review, dated 24 August 2026 and machine-translated from German, felt the entrance was more of a sales event than a welcome, so if you already know what you want, say so and head for the sand. Four stars: free entry on the venue's own word and a straightforward door, with one charge worth confirming before you go.
Minimum Spend ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (5/5)
This is where Tropical Temptation shines, and in our experience few Bali clubs publish as much. Every place in the club has a published minimum spend in three seasonal bands (regular, high and peak), in IDR, before 10% service and 11% tax. As the reservation map showed them on 25 September 2026:
- Bar Stool (7): 350,000 regular and high, 800,000 peak
- Sofa Lounge (9, up to 4 people), Hammock (5, up to 3) and Plantation bed (14, up to 2): 2,000,000 / 2,500,000 / 4,500,000
- Sand Day Bed, West and East (25, up to 4): 2,500,000 / 3,000,000 / 5,400,000
- Lagoon Day Bed, West and East (24, up to 4): 3,500,000 / 4,000,000 / 7,200,000
- VIP Cabana (4), VVIP Indoor (3) and VVIP Deck (3), up to 8 each: 6,000,000 / 6,000,000 / 10,800,000
- Teppan Stool at Hichori (4): 900,000 to 1,100,000 regular, depending on the day and whether you sit before or after 3 PM; 1,200,000 high; 1,150,000 peak
By our arithmetic, a sofa lounge for four at the regular rate is IDR 500,000 a head, or IDR 605,000 once the 21% goes on. Fair, we think, for this setting. A Lagoon Day Bed for four is IDR 875,000 a head before the 21%.
The offers page (read 25 September 2026) carries a code, CLUBSECRET, for "60% off all daybeds with minimum spending". The page's description also mentions "50% off minimum spend before 3 PM"; it is not among the listed offers, so ask whether it applies when you book. Five stars: a published minimum for all 98 places, and fair per-head numbers on a shared bed. Know before you go: "The minimum spend is strictly non refundable", and the T&Cs do not spell out how the spend is redeemed, so confirm what counts towards it when you book.
Welcome & Security ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.5/5)
The welcome here is calm and well organised, and the rules are published in full, which in our experience is more than most Bali venues manage. "Upon entering … you agree to let us inspect any bags or other goods in your possession. All items not permitted will be labeled and held by security until departure." Outside food and drink, drugs, weapons, animals, outside decorations and inflatable pool toys are all barred. The FAQ reserves "the right to deny entry to anyone who we believe is dressed inappropriately." The club is adults only, though it publishes no minimum age, and reseller listings say 18+.
At the door, Best Beach Clubs Bali found in October 2024 that staff searched bags, gave a reasonably friendly greeting and guided guests to their seats with a minimum of fuss. That matches our own experience of an orderly, unhurried entrance, and of a relaxed, grown-up crowd once you are on the sand.
Inside, the house rules suit a pool club: "No jumping and diving at the swimming pool", "No splashing water inside the pool", "Respect other guest privacy". Smoking is allowed "Only in the ground section". If you plan to bring a drone or a professional camera, check with the venue first. We land on four and a half stars: clear, published rules, a friendly door and an easy adults-only atmosphere, with a minimum age and a camera policy that are worth confirming in advance.
Inclusions ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
Start with what the venue does confirm. Its FAQ lists lockers ("Yes we do have locker or storage facilities on site") and free Wi-Fi with a password, both genuinely useful on a long beach day. The pools are part of the day too: the T&Cs set out the house rules for pool use, and with swimming off the beach prohibited, they are where you swim. And the promotions can add a treat. The September 2026 programme poster offers "COMPLIMENTARY COCKTAILS FOR LADIES" at the Wednesday DIVA sessions, and the New Year's Eve early-bird offer, open until 31 October 2026, adds a "COMPLIMENTARY BOTTLE OF SPARKLING WINE" with a minimum spend.
Beyond that, the venue publishes no list of what comes with a place. On the reservation map, most beds carry a capacity and the line "ADULT ONLY", and nothing more; the sofa lounges and hammocks carry only a capacity, and the stools not even that. The map names no towels, no welcome drink, no fruit plate and no ice bucket, and none of the unit descriptions on the venue's Spaces page mentions an inclusion either.
Towels are the one to ask about. Best Beach Clubs Bali reported in October 2024 that the club charged a towel fee of IDR 50,000 per person, would not let guests bring their own, and applied the fee even to guests on a minimum spend. The venue's current T&Cs say nothing about towels either way, and a third-party guide now shows daybeds laid with rolled towels, but a photograph is not a policy. Our advice is to ask when you book. Four stars: lockers, Wi-Fi and the pools for a long beach day, plus some generous promotions, with towels the one thing to settle when you book.
Price Value ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.5/5)
Share a bed and the numbers work nicely. Four people on a sofa lounge each commit IDR 500,000 before the 21%, and that buys a place for the day on a white sand beach under the cliffs, with a well-rated kitchen behind it. The daily 3 PM to 4 PM happy hour makes by-the-glass cocktails 2-for-1, on a limited number of glasses. And breakfast is the club's quiet bargain: Morning Temptation plates cost IDR 75,000 to 95,000, and a build-your-own breakfast is IDR 75,000 for three items, all before tax and service. TripAdvisor reviewers rate value at 4.7 out of 5 (read 25 September 2026), which suggests most guests feel they got their money's worth.
This is a premium club, priced like one. A cocktail from the by-the-glass list is IDR 175,000 before tax and service, or about IDR 212,000 by our arithmetic once the 21% goes on. A fresh young coconut is IDR 110,000 and a bottle of house still water IDR 150,000, before the same 21%. Google's price guide, drawn from 717 reports (read 25 September 2026), puts a typical spend at IDR 250,000 or more a head.
Season matters most. Peak season roughly doubles most minimums (about 1.8 to 2.3 times regular), though the Hichori stools barely move, so check your date's band before you book. Four and a half stars: good value for four on a regular-season bed, with a bargain breakfast and a real happy hour; a couple, or a peak-season date, pays more per head.
Menu/Drinks Pricing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Credit where it is due: the full menu is public. A 24-page drinks and food PDF is linked from the venue's Eat & Drink page, last updated on 21 September 2026, alongside a separate breakfast menu, so you can plan your order before you arrive. Prices are printed in thousands of rupiah, so 175 means IDR 175,000, and every printed price is before 10% service and 11% tax.
On the drinks side, cocktails by the glass are a flat 175, signature cocktails run from 180 to 350, and a sharing cocktail is 625. Mocktails are 110 to 125, soft drinks 65, fresh juice 85, coffee 65 to 85 and the whole young coconut 110. For Negroni Week in late September 2026 the menu added a Frozen Negroni at 185. The happy hour is printed on page 12: "2 FOR 1 COCKTAIL BY GLASS / *EVERY DAY START FROM 3 PM TO 4 PM - LIMITED GLASS".
On the food side, cold dishes run from 145 to 295, salads and bowls 150 to 170, smoothie bowls 165, light bites 138 to 450, pizza 160 to 245, pasta 180, large plates 165 to 425 and sharing boards 775 to 1,425. Sushi from Hichori is 105 to 170.
The drinks pages state that "Prices are in thousand rupiahs and subject to 11% government tax and 10% service charge"; the breakfast menu prints the same 21% total, as "10% government tax and 11% service charge". Five stars: clear, current, fully published prices, with the tax and service line printed and a real happy hour. Budget for the extras: house water is IDR 150,000 and a coconut IDR 110,000, before the 21%.
Food & Drink Quality ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
The kitchen is a genuine strength, and one of the best reasons to book. The main menu has something for every hour of a long day: oysters and cold dishes, salads and bowls, pizza and pasta, large plates up to a Bloody Mary Lobster, and sharing boards built for the daybed crowd. The venue's blog singles out a signature BBQ Seafood on Board. What we ate lived up to the ratings: generous, well presented and clearly cooked to order.
The reason to come hungry, though, is Hichori, the club's Japanese teppanyaki counter. It opened in 2023 with its own brand and menu, and today sells four bookable counter stools. A June 2025 profile on the Indonesian food site Foodies explained that the name joins the words for heat and chef, and singled out the Southern Surf & Turf, a 170 g MB2 striploin with bamboo lobster, which is on the current menu at IDR 695,000 before tax and service. For anyone who cares about food, a stool at the teppan counter, watching the chef cook in front of you, is, for us, the best seat in the club.
Independent reports agree. TripAdvisor reviewers rate the food 4.8 out of 5 (read 25 September 2026). Best Beach Clubs Bali found a black angus tenderloin skewer tasty and very enjoyable, and the drinks strong enough and well made, and BaliHoneymoon's writers found the oysters really tasty. We would put the cocktails a notch above the Bali beach club average, and the teppanyaki well above it.
Five stars, for a kitchen with a genuine teppanyaki counter at its heart and ratings that hold across more than two thousand TripAdvisor reviews. The menu is broad, so order around Hichori and the seafood and you will eat very well.
Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Service is where the ratings are strongest, level with the food: TripAdvisor reviewers rate it 4.8 out of 5 (read 25 September 2026). The five most recent reviews on the first page of the listing, written between 1 and 23 September 2026, are all positive and praise individual staff by name. Best Beach Clubs Bali described the service in October 2024 as very acceptable, and friendly and professional throughout.
Our own experience was in line with that. The staff looking after the daybeds work the rows attentively, check back without hovering, and bring the easy warmth of Balinese hospitality rather than the hard edge of a party club. Service on the sand feels unhurried in the best sense: nobody rushes you off a bed you have paid for, and nobody makes you chase a menu.
The main caution in the record is a mild one. Aggregated review summaries, which we could not check against the underlying reviews, describe service as inconsistent at busy times, so on a packed weekend afternoon a little patience helps. Five stars: warm, personal and consistently praised, and a big part of why guests leave happy.
Ambience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
For us, the design does most of the work, and it is gorgeous. The club is built from bamboo, thatch and rattan: curved bamboo roofs over the lounges, sofas with black-and-white patterned cushions, low wooden tables, and rattan daybeds on raked white sand at the edge of the lagoon pool. The venue bills itself as "THE ONE AND ONLY TRIBAL BOHEMIAN BEACH CLUB IN BALI". We have not seen every club on the island, but the look is specific and consistent, and entirely its own rather than a copy of a Seminyak pool club.
The mood moves through the day, much as the venue's copy promises when it says the club "carries you from sunrise to stargazing". Breakfast is barefoot and quiet. The afternoon belongs to the pools and the daybeds, as the DJ builds, and by late afternoon the beach fills with the set while the light softens over the water and catches the cliffs. Being adults only keeps the pools calm.
The atmosphere is at its fullest when the club is busy. Best Beach Clubs Bali noted in October 2024 that the club was often emptier than it could be, and a space built for a crowd is at its best with one, so for the most energy come at the weekend, when the DJ runs from 2 PM to 8 PM, or on a themed day. Five stars: a distinctive, beautifully made setting on white sand under the cliffs, at its best in the late afternoon.
Entertainment ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.5/5)
The venue's September 2026 poster, RHYTHM OF THE TRIBE, sets out a weekly programme with four themes:
- DIVA, every Wednesday: "ALL FEMALE DJS & VIOLIST", with complimentary cocktails for ladies
- SOUTH RITUAL, every Friday: "DJS PERFOMANCE / SPECIAL ‘T’ BONFIRE BY THE BEACH / MUSIC • DANCE • FIRE"
- BOHO GROOVE, every Saturday: "BOHO GROOVE MEETS TRIBAL SPIRITS"
- RECOVERY SUNSET, every Sunday: "YOUR ULTIMATE SUNDAY REMEDY"
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday get the daily DJ with no theme, which suits a slower beach day. Honeycombers' August 2026 guide says live DJs and cultural performances set the mood as night falls. To us, the Friday bonfire on the sand is the programme's most distinctive idea, and the violist at DIVA adds a live element that lifts it above a DJ-only schedule. The club can go bigger, too. In August 2026 it hosted a three-day music festival on two stages, one on the beachfront and one by the pool, with more than twenty artists on the bill.
Beyond the music there is Hichori's teppanyaki counter, and Svaha Spa Melasti on site, open to club guests and outside visitors, for a treatment between swims. This is not nightclub production: the club closes at 9 PM, and it bills its days by theme rather than by performer. Four and a half stars: a real weekly programme with a live violist and a beach bonfire, a two-stage festival in August 2026, and a teppan counter and spa for the hours in between.
Music ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.5/5)
For us, the music at Tropical Temptation is a well-judged part of the day rather than its headline, and the weekly programme gives it real character. The venue lists live DJs every day, 4 PM to 7 PM on weekdays and 2 PM to 8 PM at weekends, and describes the music in its usual poetic register: "Melody becomes a living current here, shaped by artists … the atmosphere shifts with the changing sky". The programme names set the tone, with all-female DJs and a live violist on Wednesdays, boho grooves and tribal spirits on Saturdays, a Sunday remedy, and DJs with a beach bonfire on Fridays.
The independent accounts fit that picture. Best Beach Clubs Bali wrote in October 2024 that music was piped in until 3 PM, after which live performers and DJs took over, so the afternoon is when the live sets begin. BaliHoneymoon, describing its April 2024 visit, found the daytime music minimal rather than loud EDM, which is exactly what most people on a daybed want.
The club sells its days by theme rather than by name: no residents, billed guest DJs or artists appear on any venue channel, so choose your day by the theme. Four and a half stars: for us, a themed weekly programme with real character, from all-female DJs and a live violist to a Friday bonfire on the beach.
Sound Quality ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.5/5)
The club is an open-air bamboo build, and the DJ booth sits in the open: the venue's own film captions it in the West Area, and BaliHoneymoon places it beneath the big statue, right above one of the pools. For a daybed club, a booth in the open is the right approach.
Our own read was a system tuned for the lounge rather than the dance floor, and never punishing. With the booth in the West Area, the East beds sit further from it, which is worth knowing if you want to talk more than dance.
The venue publishes nothing about its system, neither a brand nor a specification, and the evidence from others is thin and mixed. BaliHoneymoon found the daytime music minimal, while aggregated review summaries, which we could not check against the underlying reviews, say it is sometimes too loud for the setting. Four and a half stars, on our own read, for an open-air day club.
Payment Options ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (4/5)
Paying is broadly easy. Online, the options are credit card, bank transfer or QRIS. On site, the FAQ says "We accept cash, BCA Qris, all majority Debit Card and Credit Card", with wire transfers accepted only on approval and cheques not at all. The TripAdvisor listing shows American Express, Mastercard, Visa and digital payments, and in October 2024 Best Beach Clubs Bali found it easy enough to pay by card or cash, though it saw no signs for QRIS.
The one point to know is cash. The T&Cs say "All transaction is a cashless transactions.", while the FAQ lists cash, so a card is the safe choice for the bill.
Our advice: carry a card that works internationally, plus a few small notes for the small charge reported at the door and for any motorbike driver home, who by the only independent account take cash only. Four stars: wide card and QRIS acceptance online and on site, so a card covers the bill.
Exit Process ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
The club closes at 9 PM, anything held at the door comes back as you leave, since the T&Cs say items not permitted are "held by security until departure", and for guests with their own car, the private-events page mentions venue parking and the TripAdvisor listing ticks valet parking. The late light over the water makes a fine send-off.
The ride home is the part to plan. BaliHoneymoon's April 2024 account has guests coming down large stairs from the top-floor bar, and leaving reverses it. Beyond the club, the ride-hail situation described under Transportation applies at the end of the day too: Best Beach Clubs Bali described in October 2024 a long walk and a fairly steep hill to reach a spot where ride-hail drivers will collect you, and Honeycombers (August 2026) notes that taxis may be hard to find. The venue's own blog advises guests to decide their pickup point before the evening rush, and when everyone who stayed for the late light heads up the same road at once, the wait for cars is the slowest part of the day.
The fix, as we see it, is in your hands: keep your driver, or arrange a return pickup for a fixed time before you arrive, just as the venue advises. Four stars: an early close, parking and valet for guests with a driver, and clear advice from the venue itself on planning the pickup.
Social Media ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.5/5)
Instagram is the club's showcase, and it is a beautiful one. @tropicaltemptation has about 124,000 followers (read 25 September 2026) and posts every day: drone footage of the beach, daybeds and pools, food and cocktails, and the weekly programme poster. The bio sums up the pitch: "Bali's Ultimate Adults-Only Luxury Beach Club / Cabanas, Beachfront dining, Bonfires & Parties". It is the best way to see the place before you go.
Around it sits a wider set of channels. The Facebook page has 9,412 followers (read 25 September 2026). The TikTok account is small, and a YouTube channel exists but is not linked from the venue's site. The venue's blog is its busiest channel, with several posts a day in English and Bahasa Indonesia, much of it search-driven guide content. Two sub-brand accounts have gone quiet: as of 4 September 2026, South Ritual's account had not posted since December 2024, and Hichori's since around April 2026.
No recent caption, read on 25 September 2026, names a DJ or performer. We give it four and a half stars: a large, beautifully shot main account that posts every day, an unusually active blog, and, in the drive-time film, the venue's marketing at its best.
Other / General Comments
What Worked Brilliantly:
- A published minimum spend for every one of the 98 places, priced place by place on the venue's own map
- A consistent tribal-bohemian design of bamboo, thatch and rattan on one of the Bukit's great white sand beaches
- Hichori's teppanyaki counter, a real restaurant inside a beach club
- Warm service that guests praise again and again
- A daily 2-for-1 cocktail hour, and a well-priced breakfast from 7 AM
- A weekly programme with a violist and a Friday bonfire on the beach
What Needs Improvement:
- One clear, consistent answer on the door and the first drink charge
- A transfer or shuttle option for guests from outside the Bukit
- One clear line on whether cash is accepted
- A published calendar showing which dates fall in the regular, high and peak seasons
Our Pro Tips:
- Order your first round in the 3 PM to 4 PM happy hour, when cocktails by the glass are 2-for-1 while the limited glasses last
- Carry a card that works internationally, plus a few small notes for the door and any motorbike ride
- Dress a notch up from the beach: no flip-flops, sports shirts or drink-branded shirts
- Keep your driver for the day, or book your pickup before you go down the hill
- Check whether your date falls in high or peak season before you commit, because peak roughly doubles most minimums (about 1.8 to 2.3 times regular), though the Hichori stools barely move
- Come for the afternoon and the late light over the cliffs rather than a sunset over the sea
- For food, a Hichori teppan stool is our favourite seat in the club
Our Overall Opinion of Tropical Temptation Beach Club
After scoring Tropical Temptation on all 19 of our categories, we have given it 4.5 out of 5 stars (90%). Six categories score full marks: the location, the food, the service, the ambience, the published minimum spends and the fully published menu. The practical side sits a little lower, getting there and back, the door, what comes included and paying, and each has a tip above.
The strengths are the ones that matter on the sand: a white sand beach under limestone cliffs, a design unlike any other beach club we know in Bali, a kitchen with a genuine teppanyaki counter, and staff whom guests keep naming in their reviews. It is also a club that publishes more about itself than any other we know of in Bali, so you can plan your spend before you arrive.
Would we go back? Yes, happily, for a long afternoon on a Lagoon Day Bed with a driver waiting at the top. For a group of four in regular season, we would take a Lagoon Day Bed over a cabana every time.
Who is Tropical Temptation perfect for?
- Couples and friends staying in the Bukit's resorts who want an easy, grown-up beach day
- Food-focused guests who want a real meal, especially at the teppan counter
- Anyone who likes to know exactly what they will spend before they go
- Groups of four, for whom the regular-season beds are good value
Who might want to skip Tropical Temptation?
- Families with children, since it is adults only
- Night owls, since the club closes at 9 PM
- Anyone who needs a flexible, refundable booking
Final Thoughts on Tropical Temptation Beach Club
Tropical Temptation is at its best as what it plainly is: a beautiful, adults-only day club on one of the Bukit's finest beaches, with food that rises above the beach club standard and staff who make a long afternoon easy. It is open about its prices to the rupiah. Go with your ride home arranged and your plans fixed, settle onto a daybed on the sand, and in our view it is one of the most pleasant days out in the south of the island.
