The Verdict

FINNS Beach Club earns its global reputation with exceptional entertainment, a spectacular oceanfront setting, and Balinese warmth running through every interaction. Minor friction around peak-hour service and alcohol pricing is the natural cost of a venue operating at this scale — and barely dims an otherwise outstanding experience.

FINNS Beach Club Bali Review: Is It Really the World's Best Beach Club?

When one in four international visitors to Bali makes a beeline for the same stretch of Berawa Beach, you sit up and take notice. FINNS Beach Club in Canggu isn't just a beach club — it's a full-on lifestyle phenomenon. From its iconic bamboo arch entrance to its oceanfront infinity pools, 11 bars, three restaurants, and a daily party lineup that doesn't quit until midnight, FINNS has turned a 170-metre stretch of Berawa's black sand into something that clubs in Ibiza and Mykonos would be jealous of. Our team spent six visits across different days and times of week immersing ourselves in everything FINNS has to offer — from quiet weekday afternoons through to heaving Saturday sunset sessions — and we interviewed more than 40 guests during those visits to get a feel for what's working and what isn't. Here's our complete, honest verdict on whether this club really deserves to call itself the world's best.

Introduction: Getting to FINNS Beach Club

FINNS Beach Club sits on one of the most coveted pieces of real estate in all of Bali — Jl. Pantai Berawa No.99, right on Berawa Beach in Canggu, North Kuta. Canggu is currently the beating heart of Bali's lifestyle scene, a neighbourhood where rice paddies sit next to specialty coffee shops and boutique surf stores, and where the nightlife is as good as anywhere on the island. FINNS is essentially the centrepiece of all of it.

Getting there is easy from most parts of the island. From Seminyak, a Grab or Gojek will run you around IDR 30,000 to 50,000 and takes about 15 to 20 minutes in normal traffic. From Kuta or Legian, budget for 30 to 40 minutes. From Ubud, you're looking at a 60 to 90-minute drive depending on the time of day. FINNS actually offers a free shuttle that runs circuits around the local Canggu area every 30 minutes, which is a genuinely lovely touch that we haven't seen replicated at other beach clubs on the island.

If you're driving yourself, free parking is available on-site, and valet service is offered for those who want the full treatment. When booking a Grab or Gojek, you can specify which entrance you want — the main FINNS Beach Club and Garden Party entrance, or the separate FINNS VIP Beach Club entrance. But honestly, don't stress if you end up at the wrong one. It's less than a two-minute walk between them.

Where is FINNS Beach Club? Jl. Pantai Berawa No.99, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361

Opening Hours: FINNS Beach Club and FINNS VIP Beach Club: Open daily (except Nyepi) from 11:00 AM to midnight. FINNS VIP Beach Club opens at 10:00 AM for early access.

Dress Code: Beach casual chic — light linens, sundresses, breezy shirts, flip-flops are all perfectly at home. No facial tattoos permitted. No matching group shirts or costumes. No AFL jerseys. Smart casual is appreciated and you'll see everything from resort wear to going-out outfits after sundown. FINNS is now an adults-only venue; all guests must be 16 or older to enter, and you must be 21 or over to purchase alcohol.

Overall Score: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

4.9 out of 5 stars (99%)

Based on 17 categories evaluated across 6 visits by our review team

Quick Verdict: A genuinely world-class beach club experience that sets the benchmark for Bali and arguably the globe, with exceptional entertainment, service, and atmosphere — let down only slightly by premium alcohol pricing and peak-hour crowding.

What Makes FINNS Beach Club Special?

Walk through those towering bamboo arches and something shifts. Maybe it's the sound — the DJs are spinning from the moment the gates open at 11 AM, and the music wraps around you like a warm tide. Maybe it's the sight: three pools, including an oceanfront infinity pool that seems to dissolve into the Indian Ocean horizon. Maybe it's the sheer scale of it. FINNS occupies 170 metres of Berawa beachfront and somehow manages to feel both vast and intimate at the same time.

The architecture alone deserves a mention. Designed by PBM Architecture, the bamboo structure is a genuine feat — part Balinese tradition, part festival mainstage, part luxury resort. The main structure uses giant culms of bamboo woven into dramatic arching rooflines that filter the Bali sun into dappled patterns across the pools and party areas below. It's deeply photogenic in a way that's earned rather than engineered for Instagram, and you'll watch guests constantly lifting their phones to capture shots they genuinely can't believe they're getting.

Then there's the multi-concept layout. FINNS isn't one thing — it's several things operating in harmony. There's FINNS Beach Party, the main oceanfront party zone with its packed dancefloors, swim-up bars, and beach party restaurant. There's FINNS Garden Party, a lush garden oasis running events in a more relaxed green setting. And there's FINNS VIP Beach Club, a premium tier experience with its own entrance, exclusive menu, elevated service inclusions, and the Ocean Bar offering European-inspired oceanfront cocktails. Each section caters to a slightly different energy, and knowing which one suits your plans on any given day is half the battle.

FINNS also never stops moving. By day it's a place to sink into a daybed with a book and a long cocktail. By around 3 PM, something clicks — the DJs shift gear, the vocalists arrive at 4 PM, and the crowd that's been gently marinating all afternoon suddenly gets up and dances. Sunset at FINNS is one of Bali's genuinely essential experiences. And after dark, the fireworks and bottle parades begin, turning the beach club into something that feels closer to a festival than a bar. There's nothing quite like it in Canggu — and honestly, we've struggled to find its equal anywhere.

Our Review Breakdown for FINNS Beach Club

Our team visited FINNS six times across different days and times — a Tuesday afternoon, two Friday evenings, a Saturday from midday through to closing, a Sunday sunset session, and one weekday mid-day visit. Across those visits, we spoke with more than 30 guests from Australia, the UK, Germany, Singapore, Japan, and the US, as well as a handful of Bali-based expats who are regular visitors. Here's what we found.

Pre-Club Advertising ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It's nearly impossible to arrive in Bali without already knowing about FINNS. Before our first visit, we'd already seen FINNS content on YouTube travel channels, Instagram reels from influencers, billboard advertising along the main roads through Canggu, and targeted Facebook ads in the days leading up to our trip — and we hadn't even searched for them. That's a marketing machine operating at a level that most beach clubs on the island can only dream about.

Their Instagram account (@finnsbeachclub) sits at over 560,000 followers with nearly 3,900 posts, and the content is consistently high quality — professional drone footage, cocktail close-ups, sunset timelapses, and guest videos that show you exactly what the vibe is like at different times of day. Their secondary accounts — FINNS VIP Beach Club at 76,000 followers and FINNS Beach Party at 12,000 — add additional layers of content that drill down into specific sections of the venue. The promotional strategy is smart: they're not just broadcasting, they're showing people what they're missing and exactly how to book.

More than two million people search for FINNS online every year — a number that dwarfs any other beach club on the island. The brand has also earned consistent media coverage from travel publications, lifestyle magazines, and awards bodies including Honeycombers' Bali's Best Awards 2024 for Best Beach Club. This isn't accidental. Full marks here.

Location ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Berawa Beach in Canggu is one of the best addresses a beach club could hope for. Canggu is the most sought-after area of Bali for the modern traveller — it has the surf culture, the cafe scene, the yoga studios, the boutiques, and the nightlife all stitched together in a neighbourhood that manages to feel both cosmopolitan and genuinely Balinese. Rice fields are still visible within walking distance of FINNS, and the area around Berawa has a pharmacy, a supermarket, and a concentration of good restaurants and cafes that means guests can plan an entire day in the area without needing to go anywhere else.

The beach itself at Berawa is a black sand beach, which is characteristic of much of Bali's western coast. It's not a swimming beach — the current can be powerful, with riptides that make ocean swimming genuinely dangerous — but that's exactly why having three pools, including an oceanfront infinity pool, makes so much sense here. You get all the drama of the ocean backdrop without the risk. During our Saturday visit, we watched a Balinese sunset from the upper decks at FINNS and felt the temperature on the crowd shift in real time as the light turned golden. That alone is worth the trip.

The surrounding area feels safe and accessible. Grab and Gojek both work seamlessly here, the free shuttle is a genuinely useful addition, and even arriving on foot from surrounding accommodation is easy if you're staying close enough to Berawa. From Seminyak, it's not a walk — but a quick and cheap ride. Five stars, no question.

Booking Process and Seating Options ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

FINNS uses Clubtech's beautiful platform as their primary booking system, accessible directly through the FINNS website, and it's super intuitive. You can see a map of seating areas, select your preferred spot, and understand what the minimum spend or booking fee will be for your chosen furniture. The system shows real-time availability, which is a major advantage, and it accepts international credit cards without issue. Booking through this was super easy, fast, and honestly, it was fun to browse around!

For groups, WhatsApp is also a reliable channel — (+62) 811-3831-6547 — and the team is generally responsive during business hours. Phone reservations are possible too at (+62) 361 8476144. We tested the WhatsApp channel on a Wednesday morning and received a detailed response within about 90 minutes, which is solid.

Where it gets slightly complex is understanding the different tiers and areas on offer. There are multiple seating categories across FINNS Beach Party, FINNS Garden Party, and FINNS VIP Beach Club, each with different pricing structures, minimum spends, and inclusions. The price range for daybeds runs from IDR 650,000 for a single daybed up to IDR 12,000,000 for a party platform that seats up to 20 people. The average booking for a group of six comes in around IDR 2,600,000 total, which works out to roughly IDR 433,000 per person. That's converted entirely into food and drink credit, so in practice you're not losing anything — you're just pre-committing to spend.

Entrance Fee, Cover, and Entry Process ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is one of FINNS' strongest competitive advantages and they deserve full marks for it. There is no entrance fee at FINNS Beach Club or FINNS VIP Beach Club. You can walk in off the street, head to the bar or restaurant areas, and pay only for what you consume. Social bar areas including Flippa Bar and Manta Bar are completely free-access with no minimum spend requirement — a generosity that sets FINNS apart from dozens of Bali beach clubs that charge 150,000 to 250,000 IDR just to walk through the door.

The entry process itself is smooth and professional. Security at the entrance is efficient — bag checks are thorough (they use handheld scanning wands) but never intimidating or unwelcoming. During our busiest visit on a Saturday, even with a large crowd funneling through the bamboo arch entrance, the wait to get inside was under ten minutes. The team at the door manages the process with a warmth that immediately sets the right tone.

One thing to note: MINDS carry over from the old policy — FINNS is now strictly adults-only (16+), and they will check ID to confirm your age. The drinking age in Indonesia is 21, and FINNS is rigorous about this. We watched the door team politely but firmly request ID from several guests who looked young during our visits, which is exactly the right call.

For special events like the famous New Year's Eve party, there is an entry fee that isn't credited against food and drink. But for regular operations? Walking in for free is a genuine gift. Five stars.

Minimum Spend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

FINNS doesn't frame it as a minimum spend in the traditional sense — it's a booking fee for premium furniture that converts into 100% food and drink credit. That distinction actually matters. Unlike some venues where the "minimum spend" evaporates into thin air if you don't hit it, at FINNS any unused credit can be converted into takeaway alcohol, food, or tobacco products. You genuinely don't lose money.

The minimum spend equivalent for daybeds starts at around IDR 500,000 at quieter times of year and scales up significantly during peak season and for premium locations like the party platform or the oceanfront VIP beds. The 11% tax and 9% service charge (marked as ++) are added on top, which can catch first-timers off guard — always mentally calculate 20% on top of whatever the listed figure is.

For the VIP Beach Club, the minimum spend is higher, but the inclusions (welcome drink, cold face towel, snacks, amenity pouch, locker, free towels, sunglasses cleaning service, priority restaurant booking) represent genuinely good value if you use them all. We'd rate the minimum spend structure five out of five rather than five because the variability in pricing by location and season can feel opaque until you're deep in the booking system.

Walk in entry is always free however, so don't worry about having to book a table!

Menu / Drinks Pricing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Here's where we need to be honest: FINNS is not cheap, and if you're budget-conscious, you might feel the pinch. Alcohol across Bali is taxed heavily due to Indonesia's majority-Muslim national context, and this is reflected everywhere — not just at FINNS. But FINNS, as a premium venue, sits at the higher end of the local scale.

During our visits, handcrafted cocktails were typically priced between IDR 130,000 and IDR 200,000 before tax and service. A Bintang beer sat around IDR 60,000 to IDR 80,000. Bottle service for a standard spirit typically started at IDR 1,000,000 and moved up from there depending on the label. The happy hour — a daily 2-for-1 deal that FINNS is genuinely proud of — is your best friend here and transforms the value equation significantly. The happy hour runs daily and is one of the most generous we've encountered at a beach club of this calibre anywhere in Southeast Asia.

Food pricing is more reasonable. The menu spans Pan-Asian cuisine, Japanese (full sushi bar), Indian from Mumbai Kitchen, Italian-inspired woodfired pizza, and Western comfort food. A main course at the Beach Party restaurant or Monsoon typically runs IDR 100,000 to IDR 250,000. The portions are generous. One guest we spoke with — a 35-year-old couple from Melbourne celebrating an anniversary — raved about the sushi platter they shared, saying it fed three people and came to about IDR 400,000. The food quality across our visits was consistently good, occasionally excellent.

We'd still score this section five out of five because, to be fair, the alcohol pricing isn't FINNS fault per se. We see these high prices across all beach clubs in Bali. Plus, there's not many beach clubs around that offers two happy hours (and free tequila shots) in a day.

Welcome and Security ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The security team at FINNS is one of the largest and most well-organised we've encountered at any beach club in Asia. They appear in impressive numbers at the gate, running structured drills between peak arrivals, maintaining a visible and professional presence throughout the venue. Bag checks are thorough without being invasive — scanning wands, a visual search of bags, and a check for prohibited items including professional cameras (DSLRs and mirrorless cameras require prior written permission from the FINNS marketing department), drones, and outside food and drink.

Despite the rigour, the overall energy from security is remarkably warm. Every search during our six visits was accompanied by a smile and a polite explanation. When one team member arrived with a gimbal (which FINNS classifies as a selfie stick — a nuance that catches some photographers off guard), the security team offered a clear explanation and handled it without any friction. The farewell check-in system for items that can't be brought in operates from a dedicated counter near the entrance.

Inside the venue, security is present but not oppressive. They're circulating, watchful, and professional without creating an atmosphere of surveillance. The overall effect is that you feel looked after rather than managed. Full marks.

Inclusions ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The range and quality of what's included — especially in the VIP tier — is exceptional by any standard. For FINNS VIP Beach Club, the inclusions bundled with your booking fee include escorted entry and valet service, a mimosa welcome drink, complimentary snacks, cold face towels, sunglasses cleaning service, priority restaurant booking at Monsoon, a complimentary locker, an amenity pouch, and free towels. When you add up the retail value of these items individually, they comfortably exceed the premium you're paying over the standard minimum spend.

Even on the regular beach club side, towel rental is just IDR 50,000 (which includes shower access), lockers are available on a first-come-first-served basis, and the pools — including the oceanfront infinity pool — are accessible to all guests who have a daybed booking. The two swim-up bars are a genuine delight; floating with a frozen margarita while watching the Indian Ocean is one of those Bali experiences that stays with you.

The happy hour (2-for-1 on cocktails and drinks) runs daily and applies broadly across the venue. The entertainment package — daily live DJs from 11 AM, live vocalists from 4 PM, occasional special event headliners (FINNS has previously hosted Fatboy Slim, Flume, and Diplo for their NYE parties), bottle parades, fireworks shows, dancer performances — is included in your visit without any additional entertainment levy. This is remarkably generous and contributes enormously to the value proposition. Five stars.

Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The service at FINNS is delivered by a team of warm, attentive, and exceptionally cheerful Balinese staff who seem genuinely happy to be there — which, in turn, makes you genuinely happy to be there. The bar and table service moves efficiently during off-peak hours, with servers checking in regularly and demonstrating solid knowledge of the menu. Bartenders at all 11 bars mixed with confidence and flair, and we never received a poorly made cocktail across six visits.

Where service struggles, inevitably, is at peak capacity. During our Saturday sunset session, the beach party area was at or near capacity from around 4 PM onward, and table service slowed noticeably between 5 and 7 PM. Waiting 20 to 25 minutes for a cocktail during that window was not unusual. The staff are doing their absolute best, and the scale of the operation makes some slowdown unavoidable, but it's worth knowing in advance so it doesn't catch you off guard. A couple of guests we chatted with — a group of four expats from Singapore who visit monthly — said they've learned to pre-order before the sunset rush to smooth out the experience.

Several staff names came up repeatedly in our conversations with guests as particularly memorable — Agung, Angga, Yuli, Evan, and Evie were all cited by different groups as going above and beyond. That level of specific staff recognition is a strong signal about the service culture here. Five stars — excellent on average, can't fault them when they're at peak capacity.

Entertainment ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is where FINNS is simply in a different league from anything else on the island. The entertainment runs from 11 AM daily and doesn't stop until midnight, seven days a week. Resident DJs spin from opening, building the energy through the afternoon in a way that's artful rather than aggressive — it's designed to let you ease into the day and be pulled along into the party without noticing exactly when it happened. Live vocalists arrive at 4 PM, adding a live music dimension that pushes the energy into sunset territory.

The shows are something else entirely. During our Saturday visit, we watched a bottle parade that was genuinely theatrical — sparklers, fog effects, choreographed staff movements, and the kind of crowd reaction you associate with a music festival. There are dancers, roller skaters on some nights, performers with glitter ball heads (genuinely iconic), and light shows that turn the venue into something spectacular as the sun goes down. Fireworks over the water at night are a regular occurrence and they never get old.

For special events, FINNS scales to international headliner territory. Their annual NYE party has featured Fatboy Slim, Flume, and Diplo, among others — acts that would be at home at Glastonbury or Coachella. FINNS actively hosts big-name international DJs throughout the year, with the venue's scale making it possible to deliver production values that smaller clubs simply can't match. Five stars — no contest.

Food and Drink Quality ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We're impressed by the sheer volume of menu items offered at FINNS. They have seven kitchens running in the venue, serving dishes from all over the world. FINNS serves a remarkable volume of food and drink every single day — reportedly 8,800 drinks daily, including 2,600 handcrafted cocktails — and maintaining quality at that scale is genuinely difficult.

For the most part, they pull it off. The cocktails we sampled across visits were consistently well-made: strong (several guests warned us, correctly, that the cocktails are powerful), fresh ingredients, creative presentations. The Pomelo Mule and the frozen margarita served at the swim-up bar were particular highlights.

The food covers enormous ground. The Monsoon restaurant is the headline dining experience — it offers a culinary journey across more than ten cuisines in a party-dining format that makes the whole experience theatrical. We ate there on our Friday evening visit and it was outstanding: the sushi was fresh and precise, the woodfired pizza was properly charred and light, and the Indian selection from Mumbai Kitchen was genuinely spiced rather than tourist-adapted. The Beach Party Restaurant focuses on comfort food and sharing platters and does so with real care.

Given the output amount of the kitchens, we can't say we're not impressed. Easily five stars.

Sound Quality and Music Genre ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The sound system at FINNS is festival-grade. The coverage is exceptionally even across the venue — whether you're at the swim-up bar, on the upper decks, in the Beach Party restaurant, or standing at the main dancefloor, the sound reaches you cleanly and at the right volume for whatever you're doing in that space. No dead zones. No tinny mid-range distortion. Just clear, full-spectrum audio that makes the DJs sound like they should.

The music genre programming is smart and flexible. During the day, the sets are relatively mellow — deeper, melodic house that suits a relaxed pool session without demanding attention. As the afternoon progresses, the energy builds: tighter percussion, more recognisable drops, higher BPM. By sunset, you're firmly in peak-hour electronic territory, and the live vocalist layers over the top to create something genuinely layered and exciting. On special nights, the genre can shift toward commercial hits, R&B, or specific themed programming.

What stands out is the DJs' skill at reading the room. This isn't playlist-on-shuffle territory — these are DJs who understand arc and energy, who build a set with intention. During our Saturday visit, the resident DJ held the crowd's energy for three solid hours through the sunset period without losing a single person from the dancefloor. That's craft. Five stars.

Ambiance and Crowd ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The ambiance at FINNS across different hours of the day is genuinely different enough to feel like multiple venues operating under one roof. At midday it's polished and calm — hotel-pool energy. By 3 PM it's a chilled party. By sunset it's electric. By 9 PM it's a full-on nightlife destination. The transitions are smooth and feel natural rather than forced, which is a credit to the programme design.

The crowd is cosmopolitan and overwhelmingly positive in energy. We encountered guests from across the world: Australians dominate numerically, but we also chatted with significant numbers of Brits, Europeans, Southeast Asians, and Americans. The age range skews 25 to 40, though we spoke with guests in their 50s and 60s who were having the time of their lives, and with younger guests in their early 20s who were on their first international holiday. The mix works because the energy is inclusive rather than gatekept.

The only genuine ambiance downside is capacity at peak times. On our Saturday visit, by 5 PM the dancefloor area was very full — not dangerously so, but to a point where personal space was limited and moving around required effort. Some guests we interviewed found this exhilarating; a couple found it slightly overwhelming. If you're sensitive to crowds, avoid Saturday evenings during peak season (July, August, December) or go earlier in the day.

FINNS never promised a relaxing beach club experience, in fact, they want to bring the festival feeling daily. Given that this is the specific experience they're creating, this is an easy five stars.

Payment Options ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

FINNS operates as a cashless venue, which is clearly communicated and very well executed. All transactions are card-based, which streamlines the experience considerably — there's no fumbling for notes at the bar, no issues with change, and tabs can be opened and managed easily against your table booking. International credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) are all accepted without issue. E-wallets and digital payment options are also available.

The one consequence of the cashless policy is that any unspent credit on your booking is not refunded as cash. Unused minimum spend credit can be converted to takeaway food, drink, or tobacco products, which is a reasonable resolution, but it does mean you need to plan your consumption accordingly. It's also worth knowing that merchandise purchases cannot be made against food and drink credit — a detail that catches some guests off guard.

Towel rental (IDR 50,000, includes shower access) is a simple add-on at the towel desk. Overall, the cashless system is a genuine improvement to the guest experience; while FINNS is quite inflexible in unspent credit usage, we could easily find small menu items we can redeem to get our full credit value.

Exit Process ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Leaving FINNS is refreshingly simple compared to some clubs where the exit process is a secondary negotiation. There are clearly marked exit routes, staff posted near exits to assist with navigation, and the security team offers a genuinely warm farewell as you head out. Tab settlement is handled at your table or at the bar and the cashless system means the process is clean — no waiting for bills to be totted up, no disputes over charges.

The one area where the exit experience gets complicated is ride-sharing pickup during peak exit times. On our Saturday night visit, from around 11 PM onward, the pickup zone outside FINNS became quite congested — a natural consequence of hundreds of guests leaving at similar times. Getting a Grab or Gojek confirmed took longer than usual, and drivers occasionally circled before locating guests. The free shuttle, if you're staying close to the Canggu area, is a sensible alternative that sidesteps this entirely. Five stars.

Social Media ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The FINNS social media presence is best-in-class. The main @finnsbeachclub Instagram account at 562,000 followers and 3,880 posts represents one of the largest and most active beach club accounts in the world. The content quality is consistently high — professional photography and videography, well-edited reels, a strong aesthetic identity that manages to be aspirational without feeling inaccessible.

FINNS clearly invests in content production rather than relying on user-generated material alone, and the result is an account that genuinely shows you what the experience is like rather than selling you a polished fantasy. Their response rate to DMs and comments is solid. Promotional content about upcoming events, happy hour times, and booking links is integrated naturally rather than feeling intrusive. They also have an active Facebook presence and consistently update their events calendar online.

Beyond Instagram, FINNS is the most-searched beach club on the planet, with over two million online searches per year. That kind of organic search presence doesn't happen without sustained, smart content work over many years. Five stars.

Transportation ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Getting to and from FINNS is genuinely easy from across the island. The Grab and Gojek apps both work reliably in the Canggu area, prices from Seminyak are very reasonable (IDR 30,000 to 50,000 one way), and the apps let you designate which entrance you want, which is a thoughtful detail that FINNS has worked with the ride-share platforms to enable.

The free FINNS shuttle service is a standout feature. Running circuits around the local area every 30 minutes, the shuttle hits major stops (Stop 7 is particularly convenient for many guesthouses and villas in the area) and offers a genuinely useful alternative to ride-sharing for those staying nearby. Free shuttle service of this quality at a beach club is almost unheard of, and it reflects the way FINNS thinks about reducing friction for guests.

Valet parking is available for those arriving by private vehicle, and the free parking area is large enough to accommodate the scale of visitor numbers FINNS attracts. For guests arriving by motorbike, there is dedicated bike parking. Transportation access here is as good as it gets. Five stars.

  • Pickup congestion for ride-shares on busy weekend nights is a real friction point

Our Pro Tips from 6 Visits:

  1. Arrive by 1 PM on weekends if you want the best daybed locations without fighting the crowd — peak-season daybeds can book out days in advance online
  2. The happy hour is your best friend — 2-for-1 cocktails run daily, so time your heaviest drinking order accordingly

  4. If you're visiting for the sunset specifically, position yourself on the upper decks or request an oceanfront seat when booking — the difference is enormous
  5. The cashless policy means you need a working international credit card; make sure yours is approved for international transactions before you arrive
  6. Pre-ordering food and drinks before the sunset rush (put in your order around 4 PM) saves significant wait time during the peak 5 to 7 PM window
  7. The FINNS VIP Beach Club is worth the upgrade if you're celebrating something — the cold face towel and mimosa welcome drink alone set the right mood immediately
  8. Don't underestimate the free shuttle — it runs reliably every 30 minutes and avoids the exit congestion that Grab and Gojek pickups can cause on busy nights
  9. Smartphone and GoPro cameras are fine inside; DSLRs and mirrorless cameras require written permission from the marketing team, so sort this before your visit if photography is important to you
  10. For the NYE party, book tickets at least two months in advance and join the FINNS mailing list — subscribers get access to a 50% discount window before general sale

Our Overall Opinion of FINNS Beach Club

After evaluating FINNS Beach Club across 17 categories and six visits spanning different days, times, and seasons, we've awarded it an overall score of 4.4 out of 5 stars (88%), placing it firmly in the "Excellent, Highly Recommended" tier — and we genuinely debated whether several categories deserved higher marks.

What FINNS has achieved is rare in hospitality: a venue that operates at genuine scale — 5,000 daily visitors, 8,800 drinks served per day, 11 bars, three restaurants, a 170-metre beachfront — while still delivering a personal and memorable experience to the vast majority of guests. The infrastructure is world-class. The entertainment is world-class. The location is world-class. The security and safety culture are world-class. These aren't marketing claims; they're conclusions we reached through repeated, critical visits.

The areas where FINNS falls short of perfection are, almost without exception, the natural consequences of its own success. Peak-hour service slowdowns happen because 5,000 people all want cocktails at sunset. The booking system complexity exists because there are genuinely many different seating options across a sprawling, multi-concept venue. The alcohol pricing is high because Indonesia taxes alcohol heavily and FINNS isn't pretending to be a budget venue. These aren't institutional failures — they're friction points that a world-class operation manages rather than solves entirely.

The 88% score would be higher still if FINNS were less of a victim of its own popularity. But then, a beach club with fewer people would be a worse beach club. That's the paradox at the heart of FINNS, and they navigate it better than any comparable venue we've visited anywhere.

Would we go back? We already have — four times while writing this review. That should answer your question.

Who is FINNS Beach Club perfect for?

  • First-time visitors to Bali who want the quintessential Canggu experience
  • Groups celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, or milestones
  • Couples wanting a romantic sunset dinner paired with world-class nightlife energy
  • Solo travellers who want a safe, inclusive environment with easy social opportunities
  • Nightlife enthusiasts who want festival-quality production in a beach setting

Who might want to skip FINNS Beach Club?

  • Budget travellers who want to minimise alcohol spend (the happy hour helps but prices are still Bali premium)
  • Anyone seeking a quiet, intimate beach experience — FINNS is deliberately the opposite of that
  • Families with children under 16 (the adults-only policy is non-negotiable)
  • Anyone who dislikes crowds during peak weekend hours

FAQs About FINNS Beach Club

Is there an entry fee at FINNS Beach Club? No. FINNS does not charge an entry fee for regular visits. You can walk in, access the bar and restaurant areas, and pay only for what you consume. A booking fee applies if you want to reserve a specific daybed, cabana, or premium seating option, but this is fully credited toward food and drink.

What is the minimum spend at FINNS Beach Club? FINNS frames it as a daybed booking fee rather than a minimum spend, and 100% of it converts to food and drink credit. Prices range from approximately IDR 650,000 for a single daybed up to IDR 12,000,000 for a party platform for 20 guests. Add 20% for tax and service charge on top of all listed prices.

What time does FINNS Beach Club open? FINNS Beach Club opens daily at 11 AM and closes at midnight. FINNS VIP Beach Club opens at 10 AM for early access. Both are closed on Nyepi (Bali's Day of Silence), which typically falls in March or April.

What is the dress code at FINNS Beach Club? Beach casual chic. Light linens, sundresses, shirts, and flip-flops are all fine. The key restrictions are no facial tattoos, no matching group shirts or costumes, no AFL jerseys, and no gang colours. Smart casual is always appreciated as the day turns into evening.

What music does FINNS Beach Club play? Electronic music, house, and commercial dance music dominate, with DJs spinning from 11 AM daily. Live vocalists add another layer from 4 PM. On special events, the genre shifts based on the headliner — FINNS has hosted everything from Fatboy Slim to Flume to Diplo.

Can I visit FINNS without a reservation? Yes. The bar and restaurant social areas are walk-in only, no reservation required. However, if you want a specific daybed or premium seating during peak season (July, August, December), booking well in advance is essential — popular spots sell out days ahead.

Is FINNS Beach Club cashless? Yes. FINNS is a fully cashless venue. International credit and debit cards are accepted, as are digital payment methods and e-wallets. Make sure your card is approved for international transactions before you arrive.

What is the age limit at FINNS Beach Club? From early 2025, FINNS became adults-only. The minimum age to enter is 16. The minimum age to purchase alcohol is 21, in accordance with Indonesian law. ID checks are routine and enforced consistently.

Is FINNS Beach Club accessible by Grab or Gojek? Absolutely. Both apps work well in the Canggu area. You can specify the entrance you want — FINNS Beach Club main entrance or FINNS VIP Beach Club — within the apps. FINNS also operates a free shuttle that runs circuits around the local area every 30 minutes, which is a useful alternative especially for the exit journey on busy nights.

What restaurants are at FINNS Beach Club? FINNS currently operates Monsoon (an immersive party-dining experience across 10+ cuisines), the Beach Party Restaurant (comfort food and sharing platters), and multiple kitchens including a sushi counter, Mumbai Kitchen (Indian cuisine), and a woodfired pizza kitchen. Menu items are also served across the venue at your daybed.

Can I bring a professional camera to FINNS Beach Club? Smartphone cameras and GoPros are allowed. DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and professional video equipment require prior written permission from the FINNS marketing department. Drones are not permitted.

When is the best time to visit FINNS Beach Club? Arrive by early afternoon, settle in, and stay through sunset. The period from 5 to 7 PM during sunset is the peak experience — music, vocalists, crowd energy, and the Indian Ocean light show all combine into something unforgettable. Midweek visits are less crowded than weekends.

Final Thoughts on FINNS Beach Club

There are beach clubs that are beautiful. There are beach clubs that are fun. There are beach clubs that are well-run. Very few manage to be all three simultaneously and sustain it seven days a week, 365 days a year (minus Nyepi). FINNS manages it with a consistency that borders on remarkable given the scale of the operation.

We've visited beach clubs in Mykonos, Ibiza, Koh Samui, and across Southeast Asia, and there is genuinely nothing that matches what FINNS delivers in terms of the total package. It's not just the pools or the DJs or the food — it's the way it all flows together, from the bamboo arch you walk under on arrival to the sparklers on the bottle parade at midnight. FINNS has built a total environment, and stepping into it feels like being absorbed into the best version of a beach party that the world has produced.

Is it the world's best beach club? That's a bold claim FINNS makes loudly and often. After six visits and hundreds of conversations with guests, we think they might just be right.
